Semiconductor and computer manufacturing company Fujitsu Siemens Computers joins the ranks amongst the tech companies in Second Life.
Jorgen Brock, Director of Corporate Marketing at Fujitsu explains:
“We want to get some first-hand experience of the 3D virtual world: to learn about how people interact with us, what they expect from us and what we can offer to them. The 3D virtual world will most definitely be a part of our future and to ignore the learning opportunities offered to us by Second Life ?جø¬? now would, in my opinion, be a little short-sighted.”
Fujitsu has taken a product-centric approach to their virtual presence, similar to the giant computer on Dell Island, with supersized versions demonstrating their range of solutions. The focus of this approach is an explanation of the ESPRIMO Green PC.
But apart from the product placement, there’s a few other thought-out features on offer. Firstly a retro ‘pong’ game (partner required – always a good way to get extra visitors), a virtual notebook as a give-away and a competition to win a computer.
As is the norm for this type of metaverse project, there’s also a dedicated set of web pages to complement the in-world activity.
Here’s the SLurl and a review of this island over on Rambling in SL.
